I remember as a kid that summer came to an end when Jerry Lewis climbed on the stool and sang, "You'll Never Walk Alone" at the end of his annual Labor Day MD Telethon; school was to start the next day. It was also a time for family to gather at my parent's house for a cookout and one last communal dip in the pool. These days I view Labor Day as a time to take a deep breath and ask myself if my classes are running the way I had hoped and if not make necessary corrections now that will enhance the quality of my teaching and student learning. Perhaps you do the same.
No matter your perspective on Labor Day I hope it is a good one for you, family, and friends and wish you one of the best quarters/semesters ever!
